I bought 2 pices of art last night at an auction… can someone tell me what these are?…?

The 1st piece is a small drawing or painting, signed by the artist. The name looks like Denisca, Or Denisa or something like that. The 2nd piece is titled "Boy with Bug", it is also signed by the artist, That name is Paucy or Pemeo, something like that. Any info would be great on these 2 pieces, I uploaded them to www.tidyyard.com. Please take a look and see what you can… Thanks!

They’re actually quite lovely. They indeed look like they are hand-pulled prints. The artists’ names don’t ring any bells with me… which says nothing really.

The first one has some water damage and is poorly framed- it needs to be re-framed immediately before it molds.

Value? Who knows – probably no less than $40 unframed for the first, twice that for the second. But valuable or not – if you like them, you should hang and enjoy them.

  1. Yes…

    They’re paintings…

    Definitely paintings I’d say…!

  2. I don’t think they’re valuable, if that’s what you’re asking. They’re both nice paintings though.

  3. From what I can tell, they don’t look like paintings, but rather relief prints (especially the second one). A relief print is a technique where the artist carves into a flat surface (wood…you might be able to see the grain) and prints on paper.

As far as the artist, I don’t think it is someone well-known. If you undo the frame, you might get some more info on the back of the print.

    Good luck!
