Is there an ombudsman for inept and unprofessional art auction houses in UK and USA?artsalochin@yahoo.com?

Are there any ombudsman who can mediate between a vendor and an art auct auction house to prevent expensive litigation for unprofessional ism and lack of knowledge if one can prove categorically that a huge mistake has been made costing the vendor a fortune?

In the UK it would normally fall under the Office of Fair Trading
